Beuty is
everywhere |

Tom Krøjer is a constant reminder of the beauties of the world. His art ranges from the microbiological in the form of molecules and atoms to macro biological mountain scenes or glimpses into the vast expanses of the universe. |

Being an
epicurean he can find beauty everywhere; in the green valleys of Ireland,
the picturesque slopes of Etna or the cool glass of beer standing right
before him on a desk- Beauty has no hierarchy. In many of his paintings he works with a strategy which is truly his own. Sitting at the back seat of a car with an average speed of 100 km per hour he sketches on paper everything which comes into his focus. A journey into the tourist-ridden regions of The Ring of Kerry in Ireland was done with precisely this concept in mind resulting in a bunch of drawings. Back at his studio he transforms the drawings into oil- and acrylic paintings. |

As the artist has had very little time to ponder on his motifs we only see the essential: The many-coloured farmhouses and barns, the soft green contours of the landscape, the blue horizon, the occasional traffic lights and the winding road itself. |

In other paintings his vantage point has been more stationary. Sitting at a desk in a bar or overlooking the landscape from his balcony at the local “pensione” he has all the time in the world to compose his drawings. The result, however, is normally very similar to the drawings made at the back seat of a car. Krøjer selects the basics of the motif and as a result we not only see the picturesque village houses and the beautiful slopes so often painted by the great artists of the past, but also the matter-of-fact subjects included by the pop artists: The posters, the shop windows, the cars and the richly varied clothes of the local citizens.

Krøjers definition of beauty includes potentially everything in the world. A truly democratic vision which he shares with artists like Matisse and Hockney. Nothing is too small or too ordinary to be included in a Tom Krøjer painting. |

His deep
interest in the natural sciences, especially in the nuclear physics, has
lead Tom Krøjer to motifs where you see microbiological molecules and
atoms together with the macro biological structures they form. The result
has a remarkable similarity to concrete abstract paintings as if there is
some sort of overall formal logic in the construction of the universe.
Again, Tom Krøjer sees beauty everywhere, from the tiniest microorganism to the majestic and monumental mountain ranges. No doubt, it is this optimistic and positive view of the world and its phenomena which has led to the indisputable success of Tom Krøjer. |
